GEORGE JACOBS
George M. Jacobs has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and an M.A. in Linguistics. He has taught in the United States, Central America, and many Asian countries. George has presented numerous papers and workshops and written books and articles on education, particularly in the areas of cooperative learning and language development. He is a keen advocate of reading aloud and has presented many workshops for teachers and parents on encouraging children to read. He also does volunteer work in environmental preservation and animal welfare.
LOH WAN INN
Loh Wan Inn has an Ed.D. in science education, an M.Ed., and an M.A. She has lived and worked in various countries. Wan Inn has written books on education as well as preschool readers, and a book on environmental education for preschool educators for the Singapore Environmental Council. She is a consultant on science education, early childhood education, cooperative learning, and thinking skills. She is a chartered biologist with the Institute of Biology, U.K. and a member of the Malaysian Nature Society and Nature Society (Singapore).
PETER WORTHINGTON
Peter Worthington was a global partner of a consulting firm until his retirement in 2006. He has spent 30 years in Asia and first arrived in Johore Bahru, Malaysia in 1963 as a Lieutenant in the British Army. He worked in Hong Kong from 1983-1990 and spent 10 years in Indonesia with his young family before moving to Singapore. He currently calls Malaysia his home. His visits to the many safari parks in the world formed the backdrop of his stories in the Animal Adventures in Tipee Hipee Safari Park. "I have enjoyed writing these stories and I hope children will enjoy reading them and in the process learn more about the animal kingdom," he said. |
